I’m NIKOLA, a photographer living in Croatia but in love with the world! You can see me in the photo above, the year was around 1984. I’m the one in the middle. The other two kids are my childhood friends, we were all 4 years old. The photo was taken with the camera I still own today, the one that I got from my gradma for my first birthday and the only one my parents could take photos with back then. I wish we could have more photos like this one to keep them as a memory of that time… The memories are really big deal for me and I know how invaluable a single photo can be. That’s why I always hope that my clients will love the memories I make for them and that they’ll keep coming back to them just as often as I come back to this little photo.

I love people and I adore exploring the world whenever I can with the love of my life next to me. Since people of all kinds are my biggest interest, I started photographing weddings as the real ‘people’ events. I’m completely happy with being somewhere in the shadow with my cameras and capturing everything that’s happening around the bride, the groom and beyond, on a wedding day. I capture situationsmoodsfacial expressions, all sorts of tiny events that are happening, every remarkable detail and then I put them together in a unique story. My colleagues like to mention that my photos sometimes have an edgy look and sort of unusual perspective that makes them very captivating. However, the part I find the most exciting about my work is talking to people afterwards, once when they get their memories, and then after two, three or five years… That’s when I realize all over again how precious it is to have a beautiful memory of such an important day of the life. 2014 is the year I discovered what the groom’s perspective of having those memories feels like, cause that’s the year I got married in as well! The same month, July 2014 was also the last month at my engineer job, so I officially moved into a married life only as a wedding photographer and never looked back.

Just a year before that, in 2013, I became a member of the most important wedding photography societies nowadaysFearless PhotographersWedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and International Society Of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) and I won the awards in all of them, so I guess my colleagues, also wedding photographers, think that I’m doing something good. I’m really happy and thankful for that. However, my favorite award is still the one that came from National Geographic for my travel photo.I got one of ten winning images among 15 500 entries in prestigious annual National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2013. It changed my life completely!
