Emma & George: colourful Fort George Vis wedding

Vis is my favourite Dalmatian island. It’s remote, more authentic, not too crowded and with some natural spots to die for. So every time we go to photograph a wedding on Vis, some kind of holiday feeling kicks in.

It was no different with Emma and George. A young and very interesting couple actually met on Garden festival in Croatia few years ago, so now they made a decision of going back to Croatia for a perfect destination wedding! They flew with their friends and family from London all the way down to Split and took another 2,5-hour ferry ride from there to finally reach the magical town of Vis and have a really special wedding at location like no other on the Dalmatian coast. It’s Fort George and it’s situated on the hill just outside of town of Vis. It’s a proper fort that dates back to 1812 when it was built by British army in order to help protect Adriatic of French invasion led by Napoleon’s army.
So it feels even more natural to have a laid back British destination wedding at such an amazing place.

And this wedding was truly a definition of laid back. Sunny day, blue skies, multi-coloured details, smiles, amazing wine and food and crazy love of these two for one another. We loved every minute of it. Again, just like with so many of our couples, night was reaching its end in the greatest party with people seriously rocking the dance floor.
