What is better than having a destination wedding in Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful cities there is?! Having a two day celebration in Dubrovnik and its surroundings!
Amber and Michael did just that with their friends and family and had the greatest time. The first day was reserved for a fun boat trip to nearby islands of Lokrum and Kolocep. So, instead of a standard rehearsal dinner, they got the whole rehearsal trip! Lokrum is an island filled with history and one of the original filming locations of world-famous Game of Thrones, while island of Kolocep has its pearl of Restaurant & Lounge Bar Villa Ruza with the most beautiful terrace you can imagine. The night ended pretty late with the return to Dubrovnik.
The wedding day started a bit cloudy but still in a very good mood both at bride’s place and at groom’s place. The first venue to wow the guests was one-of-a-kind Sponza Palace with its yard, beautifully decorated by Amber and Michael’s wedding planner Marcela from D’Inspiration Events. The short and really touching ceremony ended the best and the most surprising way possible – with the short and heavy rain in the old town after which the sun came out in the most beautiful light covering the whole Stradun. Back then not a single person at the wedding, except Marcela and us, knew that right at the time of that heavy rain, there was the whole drama going on at the terrace of The Pucic Palace where the dinner was getting prepared for later that evening. As the rain started, the whole hotel crew got in to save all the decoration, chairs, table clothes and flowers – all while Marcela was with them on the phone not being able to run even those 100 meters as the rain was just too heavy.
But just like with any venue and with any planner who are so devoted to their job, once when all the guests arrived to the terrace, everything was magically there waiting for them, dry and beautiful. We were speechless… Combination of laughs, amazing food and some dancing were the only way to move on with the night while ending it in the amazing Razonoda Wine Bar in the same building.
The only thing both Amber and Michael could say after those magnificent two days was that it would be absolutely impossible to forget them, especially the fact that everything turned out just the way it should, leaving them with so much to talk about once they’re back to the U.S.
And we hope both of them and their awesome friends and family will be back to Dubrovnik as soon as possible!
